Much of this work is covered by insurance
Biohazard and trauma cleaning is often claimable on home, contents or landlord insurance. We prepare the quote, deal with the insurer for you, and provide the documentation they need, so cost is one less thing to worry about.
What is often covered
Cover depends on your policy, but these are the kinds of work insurers frequently pay for:
- Trauma and blood/bodily-fluid decontamination after an incident
- Crime scene cleaning once the scene has been released
- Unattended-death and after-death decontamination
- Damage from sewage escape or category-three flooding
- Some hoarding-related biohazard cleaning, depending on the policy
We cannot promise what your particular insurer will agree, but we can help you check and put the strongest, clearest case forward.
How a claim works with us
- 1
We assess and quote
We attend, assess the property and prepare a clear, itemised quotation written in the way insurers expect to see it.
- 2
You notify your insurer
You (or we, on your behalf) let the insurer know what has happened and share our assessment and quote.
- 3
We liaise directly
With your permission we deal with the insurer or loss adjuster from there, answering questions and providing documentation.
- 4
We carry out the work
Once the claim is agreed we complete the decontamination and provide the paperwork the insurer needs to settle.
Is biohazard cleaning really covered by insurance?
In many cases, yes. Trauma, crime scene and unattended-death cleaning is frequently covered by home buildings or contents insurance, and by landlord policies. Cover varies between policies, so it is always worth checking, and we can help you do that.
Do I have to pay and then claim it back?
Not always. Where the insurer agrees, we can often invoice the claim directly so you are not left out of pocket. Where an excess applies, that portion may still be payable by you. We will be clear about this from the start.
What if I am not sure whether I am covered?
Get in touch and we will talk it through. We can review the situation, explain what is typically covered, and help you raise it with your insurer. There is no charge for the conversation or the assessment.
Will making a claim delay the work?
For genuine emergencies we can make a property safe first and handle the claim alongside, so the claim never gets in the way of urgent decontamination. We will always tell you what can happen straight away and what needs sign-off.
